CBT / Counselling Services

Therapist: Susan Campbell

How can Counselling be helpful?

Counselling enables you to discuss and explore difficult feelings in a safe, confidential and non-judgmental environment. As a trained therapist I can offer you the objectivity to work through your problems (which is often very difficult for family and friends to do), allowing you to gain a better understanding of the issues that you face. The counselling process helps you to develop new coping strategies and discover new solutions to your problems. As an experienced professional, I will support you, encourage you and empower you to take positive strides to resolve your difficulties.

As you will see from the above list, I have training in a variety of therapeutic techniques but tend to specialise in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), which is a clinically proven therapy. CBT has been highlighted by the National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE) as the recommended form of therapy for a variety of conditions, such as anxiety, phobias, and depression. However, this approach may not be suitable for everyone. As such, during your first appointment your needs will be assessed and the therapeutic approach chosen will be individually tailored to meet your specific requirements.
